Fused Glass - Lumps of Liquid Light

Smooth and organic - Fused glass is
an art form that takes advantage of the infinite malleability of
hot glass to fuse together small chips of colored glass into a
smooth, cohesive object.
For fusing glass, we recommend that you use System
96. Spectrum Glass offers a broad line of specially formulated "Tested
Compatible" glass for the Hot-Glass arts. These products have
been Expansion-Matched to a nominal C.O.E. (co-efficient of
expansion) of 96, then
factory-tested for fusing compatibility. Each glass has been
carefully formulated for Multi-Fire devit resistance, and every
sheet is clearly marked with a Spectrum "Tested
Compatible" label. (Read more on this topic)
Slumped glass (also called kiln-carved) is
formed by a technique wherein flat glass is heated and allowed to
bend (or "slump") over a raised template and given a 3
dimensional aspect. Combined with the colors and detail available
using fused glass, the possible designs are limited only by the
imagination of the artist.
All the supplies you would need for fusing glass
are available from Fusion Glassworks. Need training? Our
