The Fusion Glassworks story

For over 25 years, Fusion Glassworks has been in business in the
beautiful Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. We started as a small basement operation in 1983 as a blend of retail supplies and custom windows.
Over the years, as the demand grew and our name became well known
in the industry, our space and staff also grew to where we are now.
In 1995 we opened a supply and teaching studio in Calgary Alberta,
while also increasing our size and capabilities in Kelowna to specifically focus on manufacturing.
For 13 years the Calgary location thrived, until changing leasing
rates and commercial considerations made it no longer tenable. In
late 2008, we closed the Calgary office.
Now in 2009, we have moved the supply and teaching part of the business back to our Kelowna
location. By combining the
manufacturing and retail operations, along with a newly updated
web site (with online shopping), the Kelowna location is ready for
another 25 years of growth.
Our Kelowna plant is a little over 9000sq.ft in size, serving both the commercial and custom side of decorative glass, as well as the supply and teaching side. In the last 14 years we have come full circle, albeit a larger circle than we once were and now with a second generation.
We once described ourselves as a work in progress and we still are. A new generation is at the helm, with a stronger participation in manufacturing. Fusion now has 3
beveling machines, edgers and CNC capabilities. We have a purchaser working with us in China. Our experienced staff bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to their
jobs. Being in the stained glass industry since 1983 gives us a better knowledge and experience in glass, products and techniques.
We are fully committed to a continuous quality assurance plan that we hope addresses all facets of our business. Simply put,
we strive to get things right, every time, and then try to improve
it.
We hope that this has given you a better understanding about our company, our history and our future. If you have any comments or questions, please feel welcome to bring them to my attention, at
kransom@fusionglass.com.
Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon,
Christine and Ken Ransom

Philosophy
Our Philosophy is that we treat all our business relationships
with respect and dignity, building and improving to mutual
benefits. Our three key relationships are with our employees,
clients and suppliers.
-
We believe that to empower our employees to join us in
developing our quality assurance, company direction, and
creativity, we will continue to meet, and strive to exceed our
customer's expectations.
-
We believe that one of our functions in doing business is to
be an advocate to our clients.
-
Lastly, we work with our suppliers to continue to meet our
needs for 'just in time' production.
